Salt Buckets
Salt is an essential part of the diet and is vital to stock health. Salt plays a major role in maintaining body fluid balances, transmitting nerve impulses and uptake of key nutrients from the bloodstream. In the wild animals will risk great danger to satisfy their need for salt. It therefore makes sense that if animals in the wild will risk all to obtain salt it is essential that salt is provided in the domestic farm environment.
Animals have a more well defined appetite for salt than any other element except water.
Salt deficiencies ar shown in abnormal licking or chewing of wood, soil, and sweat of other animals, urine drinking and slow growth rates or low milk yields.
