Young Stock Health Bucket
Developed specifically for today's high genetic merit young stock reared to achieve increasingly precise target weights at insemination, calving etc in order to ensure production to potential and longevity.
Dallas Keith Young Stock Health Buckets give the following advantages:
- Convenient 20 kg plastic buckets suitable for individual groups
- Molasses base to ensure steady, regular intakes even by young animals
- Higher levels of essential trace elements
- Inclusion of Optimins Proteinated trace elements ensures greater bio-availability of these elements
- Increased levels of vitamin E to assist immune system
- Higher levels of selenium to develop immune and reproductive systems

Optimins: Proteinated trace minerals are organic complexes
Zinc: Deficiency leads to reduced feed intake and lower efficiency of utilisation resulting in poor growth in young animals. Involved in bone and blood formation, development of the immune system, hoof and skin development (Keratin formation is Zinc dependent), thus resulting in healthy hooves and udder tissues (e.g. teat canal linings)
Copper: Deficiency gives rise to reduced growth rate, poor bone formation, anaemia, fertility (silent heat). A highly available source will help build up body stores.
Manganese: Deficiency leads to impaired growth, defective bone formation, reduced fertility (adults), bone malformation (young stock), oestrous cycle disturbances and abortion (embryo viability).
Iodine: Important for thyroid gland function and energy metabolism.
Selenium: Plays an important role along with Vitamin E in the immune and reproduction system. Protects against tissue damage e.g. White Muscle disease.
Cobalt: Required to produce B12. Deficiencies lead to unthriftyness and anaemia.
